Size
Miniature dachshunds typically weigh 8–11 lbs and stand about 5–6 inches tall at the shoulder. Their long body and short legs are unmistakable — and they fit comfortably into any home, big or small.
Coat Types
There are three coat varieties: smooth (short and shiny), longhaired (silky and wavy), and wirehaired (coarse with a distinctive beard). Each comes in many colors and patterns including red, black & tan, dapple, and chocolate.
